Application form printed

Exciting! Today, I found the application form for volunteers on the website http://www.kilda.org.uk/
I have printed it and started to fill it. My dear colleague and native speaker Hester will help me to check my English.

My St. Kilda Adventure

During my visit to the Outer Hebrides of Scotland in 2009, I first heard about St. Kilda. Since then it has got an enormous appeal to me. Why?

St. Kilda is an archipelago in the Atlantic ocean; a group of small islands about 60 km west of the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, of which the most important are Hirta, Soay, Dun en Boreray.
St. Kilda is mainly a bird sanctuary. In autumn and summer there are employees of the National Trust. The archipelago has the status of World Heritage site of Unesco, both for its natural value as for its cultural value. Until 1930 Hirta was inhabited.

Traveling to St. Kilda is not easy. There is no ferry going to St. Kilda, nor is there an airstrip. You can go there by boat, a cruise or you ask a skipper to bring you. But I have chosen a different way: I hope to be selected as a volunteer to work on the island in summer. In this way I will have the chance to
contribute to the preservation of this magic place.
